As promised in our earlier post, we would go one step ahead in our attempt to understand the Bharat Mala project which can be a table turning program of Indian Government.
We would list some of the features of this one of the biggest projects:
- Approximately 5,000 to 5,300 Kilometers of Road network
- Connect East with the West
- Expected expenditure of Rs. 12,000 to 14,000 Crore Rupees
- Covering 15 states of India
- Probably first of it's kind project in border area of Eastern India
- Work to take place in phased manner
- Economic and Strategic importance
- Easy access for armed forces to border areas
- Expertise of Border Road Organisation may be taken for tougher terrains
- May help in starting border trading
In all we can say, this is a very ambitious project. But at the same time, this project will not just join various cities, but will bring a lot of opportunities for the eastern India.
